Metals and Non Metals : Reactivity Series

Reactivity Series of Metals In this session, we are going to talk on “ Reactivity series of metals ”. This is very important to memorize the series. So, We will discuss on it, and we’re going to provide a trick for that.  *Learning Trick So, Let’s see the chart - Potassium  Sodium Calcium Magnesium Aluminium Carbon Zinc Iron Tin Lead Hydrogen Copper Mercury Silver  Gold *Non Metals For most learners, it seems very difficult to memorize this chart. So, As we know         HARD WORK  < SMART WORK So, Let’s learn the trick...  " P lease S top Cal ling M e A Car eless Z ebra I nstead T ry Lea rning H ow Copper S aves Gold " In this single statement, you can see the reactivity series of metals.  Instead, You can memorize this single word - PSCMAZITLHCMSG  P.S.C.M. , AZIT , LHCM , SG  Repeat this ten to twenty times... That’s all for today... Download notes in PDF format. 📂 Share Your View On Comments ... 😊 Peace ✌️😀 ...

Mathematics : Relation between zeroes and coefficient of a polynomial.

Relationship between zeroes and coefficients of a linear polynomial Today we are going to learn the relationship between "zeroes" and "coefficients" of a linear and quadratic polynomial.  As we know that the general form of a linear polynomial is as following :  ax + b  , where a≠0 , a and b are real numbers and x is a variable.  So, from here we can say that the zero of a linear polynomial will ax + b = 0  ax = –b  x = –b/a  So, for any linear polynomial, say ax + b , the zero of polynomial will –b/a  So, here b is a constant term where a is coefficient of x  Hence,  Zero of a linear polynomial =  –(Constant term)/Coefficient of x  Let's take some examples.  Let consider 3x + 8  We know that  3x + 8 = 0  3x = –8  x = –8/3  Here zero of polynomial p(x) = 3x + 8 is –8/3 But as we proved that zero of a linear polynomial =  –(Constant term)/Coefficient of x So,  Here , Constant term = 8...

EUCLID’S DIVISION LEMMA

EUCLID’S DIVISION LEMMA Euclid’s Division Lemma : Given two positive integers say ‘a’ and ‘b’ , where a > b, there exist two unique integers ‘q’ and ‘r’ satisfying the equation  a = bq + r   where  0 ≤ r < b  Example : Let consider two positive integers 5 and 37 . Now divide 37 by 5  37 ÷ 5  We get 7 as quotient and 2 as remainder. We can state this statement in an equation as -  37 = 5 × 7 + 2 This is called Euclid’s Division Lemma. We can find the HCF of integers by  Euclid’s Division Lemma. Euclid’s Division Lemma/Algorithm Type Question

  Euclid’s Division Algorithm > Question  EUCLID’S DIVISION ALGORITHM QUESTION Q. If the HCF of 468 and 222 is expressed as 468x + 222y , then x = ?  Solution :  Here, 468 > 222 ,  So, By Euclid’s division lemma, 468 = 222 × 2 + 24                        (i) Here, Remainder is 24 ≠ 0 , So, We apply euclid’s division lemma to 222 and 24. 222 = 24 × 9 + 6                          (ii) Again,R is 6 ≠ 0 , So, We apply euclid’s division lemma to 24 and 6. 24 = 6 × 4 + 0                              (iii) At this stage remainder is 0, so the  HCF (468, 222) = 6  Now, from (ii) ,  6 = 222 – 24 × 9 6 = 222 – (468 – 222 × 2) × 9     6 = 222 – 468 × 9 + 222 × 2 × 9 6 = 468 × (–9) + 222 × 19 So, Now we can write the HCF(468,222) can be wri...
